Printed Reproductions
of Watercolors
painted by Anne Hathaway
The prints
are done by different reproduction methods, and the method used
is noted with each print.
Iris
Giclée Prints
Iris
Giclée prints are reproductions made with a digital file
of an original painting and then printed with sophisticated inkjet
printers. Newly developed inks have a tested life of well over
70 years. The colors of Iris Giclée prints are more
vivid than offset lithograph prints. The accuracy and brilliance
of color of the reproduction make it very difficult to tell the
print from the original work of art. Iris Giclées are
more expensive to produce, but their quality is well worth the
investment.
Offset
Lithographs
Offset Lithographs are made by photographing the original work
and then making printing plates from the negatives. Ink is then
applied and transferred from the plate to the paper. |
